Customers at LeoVegas can look forward to getting some artificial-intelligence assistance when they gamble online. This is because the Swedish brand is pioneering a new AI technology to encourage customers to gamble responsibly. The technology is being primarily introduced to LeoVegas customers in the UK, but it is expected to be rolled out to other territories.

How will the LeoVegas AI responsible gambling tools work?

A recent statement issued by LeoVegas stated that the brand’s online gambling platform would shortly be incorporating AI-powered messaging that would display individualised messages designed to help customers play responsibly.

The AI-powered messages would be displayed in areas that had previously focused on other content such as promotions for the site’s vast collection of sports betting odds and online casino games.

This means that any customer at the LeoVegas site would receive messages when the AI-powered algorithm senses that they might be running the risk of problem gambling. At first, the messages would aim to alert the player that they might be playing irresponsibly. This would be accompanied by educational tools that would instruct as to how the player could put down limits on their deposits and so on.

However, the AI-powered tool would be able to recognise whenever a player was continuing to gamble irresponsibly. This means that the on-screen messages would increase in their persuasive severity to encourage the player to reconsider their gambling options.

Why is LeoVegas so keen to advocate responsible gambling?

All licensed online gambling sites are being encouraged by gambling regulators to do more to help their customers enjoy responsible gambling. Our LeoVegas review illustrated the fact that the operator is fully licensed and regulated by both the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority, and both legislative bodies scrutinise the performance of betting sites to ensure that they don’t do anything to encourage problem gambling.

As such, it is now a common sight for online bookmakers and casino sites to feature a section that discusses things like responsible gambling. In addition to this, many operators will encourage customers to use tools that put limits on deposits, losses, wagers, and even time spent on the betting site. There has also been the introduction of more severe tools that give customers the option to give themselves a cooling-off period, or even completely exclude themselves from the betting site.

However, LeoVegas has shown that it is serious about responsible gambling and its use of artificial intelligence marks one of the first times that the technology has been used to address the issue of problem gambling.

It marks a significant step-up in LeoVegas’ Safer Gambling offering and the group’s CEO, Gustaf Hagman, stated that it is,

‘The best way to drive engagement with our Safer Gambling tools.’

All of which means that LeoVegas should continue to build on its solid reputation for delivering some of the most trusted betting odds, casino games, and virtual betting options in the world.
