Playtech BGT Sports (PBS), currently one of the world’s leading providers of omnichannel sports betting technology has announced that it will shortly be releasing brand-new, proprietary technology which will allow for betting on virtual sports on self-service betting terminals (SSBTs) which have become increasingly common at bookmakers and casinos over the past few years.

SSBTs allow punters to place bets – including picking their selections, adding them to their betslip, creating multiples, and actually paying for their bets directly from one single terminal; there’s no human interaction involved. The announcement from Playtech BGT Sports reinforces that the sports betting industry continues to innovate in the virtual sports area; something that’s grown rapidly in popularity, likely, in part, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A High-Quality, Unique Product

Playtech BGT Sports’ new software is expected to leave a significant imprint on the industry as it offers some never-before-seen features. For example, simulation-based odds for all virtual products will be displayed, allowing punters to take an in-depth look at past form and results to help them make their betting decisions.

Combine this with PBS’s industry-leading HD virtual sports graphics and it’s clear the experience will be revolutionary for players – and it’s expected to go down well, with the company already in discussions about rolling the product out to bookmakers and betting operators throughout the world.

The brand-new SSBT is designed to offer the most realistic virtual sports betting experience yet, and it’s the result of more than a year of testing and development which included advanced motion capture filming at the company’s specialized studios in Leavesden, in the UK.

From what we’ve seen, the product certainly looks to be likely to become industry-leading – and the graphics are incredibly life-like, with some punters unaware they’re actually viewing virtual sporting events at first. Combined with exciting gameplay, a huge number of betting markets and betting options and a vast array of sports (which includes virtual football bets, horse racing, greyhound racing, basketball, and virtual tennis betting) and it’s likely punters (and operators) will welcome the new technology.

An Exciting Development In The Virtual Sports Betting World

Along with the stunning HD, realistic graphics, and multiple betting options, the actual betting experience has been streamlined too. Now, punters can use more resilient touchscreen technology to make their selections, and it’s easy for operators to install too. This is thanks to a “plug-and-play” media box developed by PBS which offers dual-screen outputs.

This helps to maximize the on-screen space so that punters can view as many betting options and markets as possible. According to PBS, their new virtual sports product can be up and running and live in just 4 weeks; a time-frame that operators will also like.

Richard Andrew, the Director of Virtual Sports at Playtech BGT Sports said: “Operators demand unique products and quick and easy betting opportunities for their customers, no matter what the sporting action or time of day.

“PBS’s Virtual Sports product suite has been designed with this in mind, ensuring operators are always able to offer ultra-realistic betting to their customers, no matter when, via the quick and easy convenience of our proven SSBT software.”

PBS has announced that they plan to roll out their new product to all existing retail customers, and operators can customize a number of options to include their own branding and select which leagues and markets they’d like to offer.
