As the US sports betting market broadens, operators like FanDuel are soaking up as much exposure as possible. It has been revealed just a day ago that FanDuel will serve as the official sports betting partner of Major League Baseball, offering extensive baseball markets in the states that it operates but also using MLB branding across its platform. Since 2023 kicked off in earnest, FanDuel has been reporting consistent growth, and it’s off to a flying start with a great year ahead.

Recently, FanDuel’s parent organisation, Flutter, revealed that the popular betting platform had secured a revenue hike of 67% through 2022. That’s enough of an indicator that FanDuel is soaring, but partnerships such as the MLB deal are further proof of the validity driving the FanDuel platform forward. With FanDuel leading the charge, it was stated that Flutter’s US revenue (betting-wise) was up to $3.2 billion by the end of 2022.

FanDuel is attempting to break into any relevant market in the United States. For instance, any day now, the platform will open its doors to bettors in Massachusetts when markets go live. At the moment, FanDuel is focused on pre-registration bonuses for users that want to get in on the action preemptively. Following the signing of the deal between Flutter’s FanDuel and Major League Baseball, the platform has another audience and a batch of branding opportunities that it can leverage to grow even further.

In a statement, MLB EVP of Media and Business Development, Kenny Gersh, said:

‘As one of the top sportsbooks in America, FanDuel has been an industry leader in innovative fan engagement opportunities while also reminding them of the importance of doing it responsibly. These key priorities of unique fan engagement and responsible gambling align with our focus from the league level and make FanDuel a natural partner to collaborate with as an Official Sports Betting Partner.’

If that wasn’t enough praise regarding the deal, FanDuel’s President, Christian Genetski, also spoke highly of the partnership:

‘The baseball fan is one of the most engaged in all of sports, which is why we’re delighted to be the new sports betting partner of Major League Baseball. Our team is eager to showcase FanDuel in nationally broadcast MLB games and help enhance game narratives and bring America’s Pastime directly into our mobile app and OTT platform for fans to watch and wager.’

This year, the MLB season starts on March 30th and is expected to run until October 1st. For those looking to take advantage of the growth of the US sports betting markets and place a few wagers, FanDuel really is just sitting there, waiting.
